Beyoncé won eight Moonmen, including the top prize of Video of the Year, at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards show in New York.
She took home the evening's highest honor for "Formation" from her blockbuster, visual albumLemonade,
and scored the Best Female Video prize for "Hold Up," as well as a half-dozen other awards. She also performed a medley of hits fromLemonade in an unscheduled, but much-hoped-for live appearance.
The Best Male Video statuette went to Calvin Harris for "This is What You Came For" and the Best Collaboration title was bestowed upon Fifth Harmony and Ty Dolla $ign for "Work From Home."
DNCE was declared Best New Artist and "All in My Head [Flex]" by Fifth Harmony featuring Fetty Wap was named Song of the Summer.
Other highlights from the televised event were performances by Rihanna, the recipient of the Michael Jackson Video Vangard Award; Kanye West's introduction of his video for "Fade," starring actress and GOOD Music recording artist Teyana Taylor and her fiancée, the Cleveland Cavaliers' Iman Shumpert; Future's rendition of "[Expletive] Up Some Commas;" and Britney Spears' duet with G-Eazy -- "Make Me..."
