Part of Los Angeles airport briefly closed, 'Zorro' detained

Part of Los Angeles airport briefly closed, 'Zorro' detained
LOS ANGELES — Part of Los Angeles International Airport was briefly closed late on Sunday (Aug 28) after loud noises were heard that sounded like gunfire, possibly caused by a man dressed in a black Zorro outfit who was later detained by police.

Passengers who fled in panic after hearing the noises slowly filtered back to the busy airport, as the departure and arrival areas of the central terminal that were closed for a police sweep were re-opened.
"Report of shooting at LAX proven to be LOUD NOISES only," Los Angeles Police Department chief spokesman Andy Neiman wrote on Twitter.
"No Shots Fired No Injuries investigation continues to locate source," he added.
However an individual "in Zorro costume has been detained" by airport police, airport authorities wrote on Twitter. It was not immediately known what role the individual played in the incident.
The alert came two months after police temporarily evacuated a terminal at New York City’s John F Kennedy International Airport while they investigated reports of gunfire there, also later determined to be false.
A preliminary investigation of that incident, which also occurred on a Sunday evening, found no evidence of foul play or suspicious activity.
US airport security officials have been on heightened alert in recent months following deadly attacks at international airports in Belgium and Turkey.
The Los Angeles airport, known as LAX, is the seventh busiest airport worldwide in terms of traffic. Los Angeles itself is the second most populous city in the United States.
Following the reports of an active shooter, passengers "in several LAX terminals self-evacuated onto the tarmac and rushed through federal security screening without being properly screened," airport public relations director Nancy Suey Castles said after the terminal was cleared.
Many passengers however were "being screened by explosive detection K-9 units" before being allowed to enter the terminals for re-screening, she said, adding that reports "of an active shooter at LAX were unfounded". AGENCIES

Canadian men learned they were switched at birth 41 years ago

Two men in a remote community in Canada have learned they were switched at birth 41 years ago in a hospital.
Leon Swanson and David Tait Jr. knew each other in the same town of Norway House, with a population of
5,000 people mostly indigenous from the Cree Nation about 286 miles north of Winnipeg.
They were swapped in the government-run Norway House Hospital in 1975. They were born three days apart — Swanson on Jan. 31, 1975, and Tait on Feb. 3, 1975.
DNA testing confirmed that each other's biological parents took them home shortly after they were born.
Tait said he felt "distraught, confused and angry" during a news conference Friday, three days after the news of the switch surfaced.
"I want answers so bad," he said. "It's going to affect us one way or the other, I know that. It's going to be a long journey."
He said the people who raised him "would always be (his) mom and dad, regardless" yet he now also has "another brother, another mom and dad."
David Tait Sr. said "We agreed we are going to be one family."
Charlotte Mason ended up raising Leon Swanson and Francis Tait raised David Tait.
Another case prompted Tait and Swanson to have their DNA tests. They had suspect they could have been switched at birth based on similarities with each others' parents.
In November, local government officials said two other men at the same hospital were also switched at birth in the same year -- five months later than the current case.
Health Minister Jane Philpott said his agency would start an independent investigation to try to determine whether there are any other cases of baby-switching.
Philpoot said it was an "important reminder" of the "urgent need to provide all indigenous people with high-quality health care."
"I can't describe this matter as anything less than criminal," said Eric Robinson, a former New Democratic Party of the Manitoba Legislative Assembly for Keewatinook. "We can live with one mistake, but two mistakes of a similar nature is not acceptable, so we can't simply slough it off as being a mistake, indeed it was a criminal activity in my view."

Islamic State militants released in Philippines in 'staged raid'

In what is being called a "staged raid," eight militants linked to the Islamic State were freed from jail in the Philippines Saturday.
A military source said he believes the militants, held last week after being found with homemade mortars, had
been allowed to escape, BBC reported.
About 20 fighters with the Maute group turned up at the Lanao del Sur jail in Marawi armed with AK-47 Kalashnikovs and M-14 rifles, to stage the escape. No shots were fired. Along with the eight IS fighters, at least 15 other inmates held on charges from murder to drug-related offenses, also walked out of the jail.
Chief Superintendent Agripino Javier, the police director for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said Sunday he launched a hunt for the group that conducted the raid, along with the detainees they freed, PhilStar Global Nation reported.
The Maute group, which carries black IS banners when it moves around, first came on the scene earlier this year swearing allegiance to Iraq and Syria. The group previously beheaded two non-Muslim captives they believed to be government spies.
The Philippino region of Mindanao, which is majority Muslim, has faced separatist clashes for decades. Most of the country is Catholic.

More than 300 reindeer killed by lightning in NorwayMore than 300 wild reindeer have been killed by lightning in central Norway.
The Norwegian Environment Agency has released eerie images showing a jumble of reindeer carcasses scattered across a small area on the Hardangervidda mountain plateau.

The agency says 323 animals were killed, including 70 calves, in the lightning storm Friday.
Agency spokesman Kjartan Knutsen told said it’s not uncommon for reindeer or other wildlife to be killed by lightning strikes but this was an unusually deadly event.

‘We have not heard about such numbers before,’ he said today.
He said reindeer tend to stay very close to each other in bad weather, which could explain how so many were killed at once.
Thousands of reindeer migrate across the barren Hardanangervidda plateau as the seasons change.

Police believe they have captured a serial killer dubbed China’s ‘Jack the Ripper’ for the way he mutilated several of his 11 female victims, state-run media reported Monday, nearly three decades after the first murder.

Gao Chengyong, 52, was detained at the grocery store he runs with his wife in Baiyin, in the northwest province of Gansu, the China Daily said.
The newspaper said he had confessed to 11 murders in Gansu and the neighbouring region of Inner Mongolia between 1988 and 2002, citing the ministry of public security.
Gao allegedly targeted young women wearing red and followed them home to rape and kill them, often cutting their throat and mutilating their bodies, according to reports. The youngest victim was eight years old.
Some victims also had their reproductive organs removed, the Beijing Youth Daily added.

‘The suspect has a sexual perversion and hates women,’ police said in 2004, when they linked the crimes for the first time and offered a reward of 200,000 yuan (£22,000) for information leading to an arrest.
‘He’s reclusive and unsociable, but patient,’ they said at the time.
The original Jack the Ripper was a serial killer active in east London in the late Victorian era, who is widely believed to have murdered five women, mutilating several of them. Those killings have never been solved.
Gao was identified after a relative was put under house arrest in Baiyin over allegations of a minor crime and had his DNA collected and tested, the China Daily said.
Police concluded the killer they had been hunting for 28 years was a relation, and Gao’s DNA matched the murderer’s, it added.

There were no immediate explanations as to why the killings stopped in 2002.
Miscarriages of justice are not rare in China, where the use of force to extract confessions remains widespread.
In several high-profile cases in recent years, China has exonerated wrongfully executed or jailed convicts after others came forward to confess their crimes, or in some cases because the supposed murder victim was later found alive

Man rescued after getting stuck inside public toilet

Man rescued after getting stuck inside public toilet
A man in Norway has had to be rescued after getting stuck inside a toilet.
Cato Berntsen Larsen had eagerly climbed feet-first into the public loo in Drammen, near Oslo, after volunteering to retrieve a friend’s phone.

However, the 20-year-old couldn’t get back out again.
The toilet tank isn’t connected to the sewer system, but is an old-fashioned outhouse-style loo that is only emptied once a season.
‘It was damn disgusting,’ he told Norwegian paper VG. ‘The worst I have experienced. There were animals down there too.’
And to make things even worse, Cato added to the pool of waste by vomiting almost immediately after getting into the tank.

He ended up having to spend around an hour standing thigh-deep in urine, faeces, and his own sick.
It all started when his friend dropped his phone down the toilet while urinating, and shouted for Cato’s help getting it back.
Cato, an amateur diver, said he ‘did not think twice’ about going in to get it.
But he soon became stuck, as he was ‘apparently thin enough to go down but not thin enough to come up again’.
Firefighters had to completely destroy the toilet to get him out. It is now out of service.
Cato suffered minor injuries to his upper arms, as well as several animal bites. He was given antibiotics.
Despite his best efforts, he was not able to retrieve the phone.

Medical Phenomenon?? This Lady Stopped Aging At Thirty, Mostly Thanks To This Ingredient!! (+Photo)

Pamela Jacobs from the UK (originally from South Asia) is 52. But, that’s not the impression most people get when they meet her for the first time. In fact, most people think she’s in her 30s.For one thing, she has this flawless complexion and great body. Although she says, part of it is due to genetics, she also works hard
to look the way she does. Aside from eating healthy and exercising regularly, she swears by one ingredient that helps her maintain her youthful appearance – coconut oil.
Coconut oil takes an important part of her beauty routine – she uses it as a body moisturizer twice a day, as a makeup remover, and for body brushing once a week. She also applies in generously on her face before going to bed and leaves it on overnight. After this, her skin looks rejuvenated in the morning. It’s no wonder many people mistake her for her son’s girlfriend (her son’s 21!). Once she was even offered a student’s discount when she was buying a ticket to London.

Ms. Jacobs started using coconut oil when she was young. As for her diet, she follows the 80/20 rule, meaning that 80% of her diet is healthy organic foods, and the remaining 20% is not-so-healthy – pudding, alcohol and chocolate, but dark organic.
She avoids bread, sugar, pasta and fruit, but loves green leafy vegetables, water with lemon, protein foods, turmeric, ginger and pepper …
She works out on a regular basis and showers with cold water after going to the sauna.
Why is coconut oil so good?
There’s no question coconut oil is one of the most health-beneficial foods on the planet. In fact, it’s much more than a food. With its unique combination of fatty acids, mostly medium chain fatty triglycerides, coconut oil has some amazing medicinal properties. These triglycerides are transferred from the liver into the digestive tract, where they are used as a quick source of energy rather than being deposited as fat reserves.
In spite of its numerous health benefits, coconut oil is still considered an exotic food in our Western society and is mostly consumed by people who know the importance of a healthy diet. In some parts of the world such as the South Pacific people get 60% of their calories from coconut, but they are also the largest consumers of saturated fats in the world. It because of coconut oil that these people enjoy excellent health and there’s lower incidence of heart disease among them than in the rest of the world.
Easy digestion
Coconut oil is highly beneficial for treatment of digestive issues such as microbiological bacteria and intestinal problems. The thing is fatty acids in coconut oil provide antimicrobial effect that eliminates bacteria, fungus such as candida, and even parasites that cause indigestion.
Cooking at high temperatures
The medium chain fatty acids allow coconut oil to have a higher temperature tolerance than most other oils. For instance, olive oil oxidizes once it reaches the point of opacity and creates free radicals.
Slows the aging process and the formation of wrinkles
Coconut oil is an important skin care product as well. It keeps connective tissue strong and prevents wrinkles and other skin problems. You can use it on a regular basis to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or to give your skin a nice glow.
According to dermatologists, this gift of nature can be used instead of expensive cosmetic products which are often laden with harsh chemicals. The best cosmetics to use is one that contains coconut oil and that you make yourself – toothpaste, face cream, suntan lotion and deodorants.
You can either opt for illuminator or highlighter to freshen up your dull and tired skin, or you can get the same effect with coconut oil. It’s quite simple – apply some coconut oil on your cheeks and face to look fresher and younger. Moreover, all natural products based on coconut oil contain pigments that reflect light thus providing instant freshening-up on a tired face.
Coconut oil is also great for fighting hair loss. The thing is it penetrates deeply in the scalp and revives hair follicles while preventing the loss of protein. Simply put some coconut oil on your palm and spread it over your hair. Next, comb your hair from the scalp to the tips. Roll your hair up and put a shower cap. Let it act overnight. In the morning wash your hair with mild.
Body Scrub
To use coconut oil for body scrub, melt ½ cup oil and mix with a cup of brown sugar and salt. This mix is a natural exfoliant that deeply moisturizes your skin. Adding a few drops of your favorite essential oil or vanilla extract is also an option.
Hands
Coconut oil can do wonders for the skin of the hands, especially if it’s dry as a result of frequent washing. Make it a habit to apply some coconut oil on your hands every time you wash the dishes as this will help your skin retain moisture and make your hands soft and smooth.
Body Lotion
Last, but not least, virgin coconut oil is amazing for skin hydration, but also for preventing moisture loss with extremely dry skin. Save your money on expensive body lotions as this is a natural alternative that provides the same effects.

Is Tupac still alive? New video footage emerges of ‘rapper’ in smartphone selfie

Tupac and other Tupac?
Since the Harlem-born music icon was gunned down after a boxing match in Las Vegas in 1996, huge numbers of his fans have been convinced he did not really die and has been living a secret life.
Many who believe in the conspiracies say Tupac has been living in Cuba after faking his own death and
grainy photos have previously been published on various websites claiming to show the rapper still live.
But now a video has appeared on YouTube featuring a clear photograph of a man in a red bandana and a blue jacket who bears a striking resemblance to the supposedly deceased musician.
GETTY/YouTube
Does this selfie, right, prove murdered rapper Tupac, left, is still alive?
The video asks: "Did you saw this? It is Tupac, guys, 100 per cent - same eyebrows and lips."
Captions on the video, which has been viewed more than 1.3 million times, claim the selfie was taken in 2015 on a smartphone made in 2015 - 11 years after Tupac's apparent death.
The coat the alleged Tupac is wearing in the photo has apparently only been available since 2014, the film's maker claims.
Tupac and Rihanna allegedly REPORTERZ
This grainy picture emerged previously claiming to show Tupac with singer Rihanna
Viewers then hear a tune by raper Kasinova Tha Don, who conspiracy theorists have repeatedly claimed is Tupac Shakur in disguise.
Tupac was shot in a driveway, aged 25, on September 7 1996 after watching Mike Tyson beat Bruce Seldon.
He died six days later.

Many dismissed the video as more conspiracy with one woman saying: "This look like any regular old fool with a nose ring trying to pass himself off as Tupac."
But some appeared to believe it, with one commenter exclaiming: "He's alive! My dad is going to be so happy!"
Earlier this year, a separate video appeared online claiming that not only was Tupac alive and living a secret life in Cuba but he was planning to make a comeback in 2016.
Kasinova Tha Don has already refuted claims he is Tupac although he has posted several cryptic messages on social media leading some to believe he is the iconic rapper, including writing: '2 Souls, One Body" on his Facebook page.

Many fans believe Tupac has been living a secret life in Cuba
Express.co.uk has previously reported how a grainy black and white photograph emerged appearing to show Tupac with chart topper Rihanna. The singer was eight years old when Tupac died.
An article on American celebrity website Thereporterz.com said: "Tupac Shakur, who was supposedly killed at the age of 25, is now admitting he has been hiding this whole time."
The author said the revelation explained why no funeral or memorial service was ever held for Tupac although he or she admitted: "It is unclear why he has been in hiding."
Other questionable photos and videos have appeared online over the years since Tupac's death claiming to show him alive and well but fans are still waiting for the big comeback.
