Actor jailed for 8 years for sexually assaulting women as they slept at house parties

Actor Nyakeh Kpaka, 26, who appeared in hit TV show Broadchurch has been sentenced to 8 years imprisonment and described in court by the judge as a 'dangerous predator' after it's found he sexually assaulted women who slept off at house parties.

Kpaka - who uses the acting name Nakay Kpaka from Wood Green, North London made his first attack in December 2014 and May 2015 and in both cases lept onto the bed of his victims who didn't know him and assaulted them twice.

He was only arrested after the second attack victim of May 2015- ran out of the house and was screaming when she woke up to find Kpaka seriously 'pounding' her.
He's been found guilty by Woolwich Crown Court of three counts of sexual assault by penetration and handed five years in jail for the two offences in 2015 and three years for the 2014 offence.

Detective Constable Peter Thompson, from the Met's sexual offences, exploitation and child abuse command, said on Tuesday after his court sentence: "Kpaka is a dangerous sexual predator who has attacked vulnerable lone women whilst they were sleeping in bed at two different house parties.

"Thankfully  he has now been caught and convicted and is serving a prison sentence.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank those present at the parties who came to the assistance of the victims and the victims themselves who showed a great degree of courage to report these offences and give evidence against Kpaka."

The millionaire activist who admitted to smashing up Donald Trump's Hollywood Walk of Fame star has been arrested, but also now bailed.  Otis spoke to the media about his arrest outside of the LAPD Metropolitan Detention Center when he was released from jail on $20,000 bail. According to him, he did it to show support for women who have accused Trump of groping them.

The authorities have stated that Otis was arrested for felony vandalism and is due in court on November 18. The charge could earn him three years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.

A prosecuting witness and compliance officer at GTB, Kayode Temitope Olanrewaju, yesterday told Justice Mohammed Idris of the Federal High Court in Lagos how former Senior Special Assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan on Domestic Affairs, Waripamo-Owei Dudafa, allegedly laundered N270.7 million through the bank account of a restaurant in 2013 and 2015.

Dudafa was arraigned for the offence by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), alongside Joseph Iwuejo and four companies.

Lagos residents descend on robber while trying to rape a lady

A suspected member of a notorious armed robbery gang that had been terrorising residents of Igando, Lagos, was yesterday arrested while attempting to r*pe one of his female victims during operation.

The suspect, Akeem Folorunsho, and some members of his gang, stormed No.6 Ismail Abass Street at about 5am and gained entrance into one of the apartments. The cutlass-wielding men, according to a tenant, ordered a lady in the room to lie down in a bid to r*pe her.
However, her father was said to have put up an act of bravery by engaging the armed men in a brawl, in the process policemen were contacted. A resident, who gave his name as Chima, said:
“When the alarm was raised from the apartment that was being attacked, some people summoned courage and went into the apartment, where the father of the house (names withheld) was engaged in a fight with the robbers.
“One of the robbers was apprehended, while the other fled on noticing that residents were aware of their presence.”
The apprehended guy would have been lynched by the mob, but for the intervention of policemen.
Lagos Police spokesperson, SP Dolapo Badmus, who confirmed the incident, said:
"It took reinforcement for police to rescue the robbery suspect, one Akeem Folorunso. He was taken for treatment and Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, has directed that he should be transferred to the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, while effort is on to track his accomplices.”

S*x Video Scandal: Miss Anambra, Chidinma Okeke, Hands Over Her Crown

I decided to ignore this story when the video leaked last week because most times there is nothing you can tell some ladies that could make them change until they get to the end game. If not that her lesbian video leaked, this one too would have continued to deny her acts.

Chidinma Okeke, the outgoing Miss Anambra 2015, whose s*x video went viral on social media has handed over her crown to Miss Anambra project executives.

Even her handover was allegedly staged-managed, as she had done it even before the s*x saga. Sigh!

HOT POLITICAL BATTLE AHEAD: Tinubu Is Ready For Them

Following the simmering crisis in the APC, the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has started reaching out to his former political foes in the South-West in order to consolidate his influence in the region.

The multi-layered crisis in the ruling party is threatening the erstwhile chummy relationship between Tinubu and President Muhammadu Buhari, and some agents in the APC.

The crisis in the ruling party started before the 2015 general elections but became full-blown after Buhari was sworn in as president. There has been discontent within the Tinubu camp.

Sources said that members of the group and their principal were not happy with what they saw as attempts by APC leadership and the presidency to diminish Tinubu’s high contributions to Buhari’s emergence as president and undermine his leadership in the South-West region.

The Punch learnt over the weekend that some of Buhari’s closest associates have been pushing back by telling those who are close to Tinubu that Nigeria cannot have a 'co-presidency'.

Although the two leaders had tried futilely to keep the frosty relationship away from public, things came to a head a few days ago when Tinubu wrote an open letter lambasting the National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, who is believed to enjoy the support of the president.

Tinubu’s harsh denunciation of the party chairman has been widely interpreted as a direct protest against Buhari. In private, Tinubu’s loyalists are complaining that his political capital is being eroded by the hostile actions of the president’s men and the inactions of President Buhari.

Tinubu’s loyalists in the South-West have listed Buhari’s hostile actions against the APC leader to include the exclusion of his candidates from Buhari’s final ministerial list, the gang-up against his candidate in the Kogi governorship election, James Faleke, who was late Audu Abubakar’s running mate; and alleged fraud against his candidate in Ondo governorship primary, Olusegun Abraham.

Until the recent crisis, the APC had managed the discontent within its leadership as insinuations were rife that some of Buhari’s closest political associates had perfected a plan to humiliate Tinubu.

But pro-Tinubu elements within the party and other sympathisers have vowed to resist any attempt to humiliate the respected politician.

Some of Tinubu’s close associates spoke to The Punch anonymously.

A chieftain of the party in Osun State, said, “This is the beginning of the end of the APC. The party will shatter into smithereens. We are ready for them. They are going nowhere.

“We know the political leader of the South-West and that person is unmistakably Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. They are envious of Tinubu’s achievements, but they don’t have Tinubu’s clout. None of those scrambling to wear Tinubu’s shoes have the clout to do so. These ingrates are the people that have benefitted immensely from Tinubu’s large-heartedness. Now, they are stabbing him in the back. We are in the South-West together, we shall see.”

Speaking in a telephone interview with The Punch on Friday, Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, said he would not hesitate to fight against any anti-Yoruba policy by the Buhari-led administration. He said he would team up with like-minded leaders in the South-West to resist attacks on any of the region’s political leaders.

Fayose said, “I will resist any policy that is formulated by Buhari administration against the interests of the Yoruba. Some people may say it is too early to criticise them now, so, we are watching.

“We will keep our fingers crossed and our gunpowder dry. We won’t be hasty in our condemnation; when you put water on fire, you wait for it to boil. We don’t want it to appear as if we are looking for an opportunity to nail them. Let them continue their governance, we are watching.”

A pro-Tinubu stalwart in the ruling party also declared that the plot to ridicule Tinubu and reduce his influence and standing in the South-West had “already failed.”

Another APC leader in the South-West said; “we won’t be surprised if the EFCC wakes up tomorrow to say they are probing Tinubu or his associates. They may even send the DSS after him because that is the step the Buhari government has taken against all their perceived enemies. Asiwaju knows that they may come for him.”

Another top member of the APC said it is wrong that they are sidelining Tinubu.

The source said, “Those leading the rebellion against Tinubu are politicians who lost their wards and constituencies in elections, even when they were governors. His loyalists are not in government, despite the contributions of Asiwaju to the 2015 electoral victory. Asiwaju has realised that they are ready to go to war with him so he is consolidating. This is not a time to hold on to past wounds and we are glad Yoruba elders who were critical of Tinubu before are rallying round him because they understand that this is a South-West matter. It is beyond our national leader.

“The elders have held several meetings with him and they are realigning. Don’t forget what Pa Ayo Adebanjo said; he said any insult to Asiwaju is an insult to the Yoruba race and Adebanjo is not known to be flippant in his choice of words.”

Another Baby Factory Busted In Delta; Husband Impregnates Girls For Wife

The Delta State Police Command, on Friday, discovered another ‘baby factory’ in Asaba, the State's capital, following a tip-off. The Command rescued seven pregnant girls.
Police stormed the factory located at Oduke area within Asaba metropolis, arrested the proprietor’s husband and a female syndicate who is alleged to be the operator – as a Nurse.

The woman's husband’s duty is to impregnate the girls whose age-range is between 18 and 20.

The wife then sells the children upon delivery. Vanguard gathered that the couple met their Waterloo after they sold a two-week old baby boy delivered by one of the inmates, Blessing Aondoseer.

Blessing, who was said to have been taken to the ‘baby factory’ by her hubby for medical treatment, reported the incident to the police at ‘B’ division, Asaba.

Parading the suspects and the victims, the State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Celestina Kalu, said following the complaint made by Blessing Aondoseer that her two-week old baby boy was taken to unknown destination by her husband and a lady, who was later identified as Jennifer Obi and two others without her consent, they suspects were nabbed.

SP Kalu confirmed that seven pregnant girls were rescued.

South Africa gets Africa's first solar powered airport

George Airport in South Africa is not only Africa's first solar powered airport, it is also the second of such in the world after India's Cochin airport. 2000 solar panels provide 750Kw of energy daily which exceeds the 450Kw the airport needs to run its activities.

“Gone are the days when power failures used to a be a big thing for the airport. We no longer have those, said Brenda Voster, Airport Manager.

The solar facility which cost about $1.2 million to build has so far helped airport reduce its carbon dioxide emissions by 1,229 tonnes, the equivalent of 103,934 litres of fuel.

Also, there are plans to increase the capacity of the power station by an extra 250 Kw.

“We’re quite excited about us embarking on phase two. Phase two I should say in all probability, will, have the back-up battery facilities where we can then store any solar that we generate through the day that we are not using,” Brenda added. The busy travel hub handles about 700,000 passengers annually

Married Woman Caught With Lover...escape through window

The mess you see in the absence of self-respect. Residents of Fedha estate were treated to a shameful drama after an adulterous wife was caught with a man right in her matrimonial home.

Funny enough, the woman jumped from their bedroom on the first floor of the building after she was busted by her husband, who came back suddenly after receiving a call about his wife's escapes.

Jessy (the wife) did not care about breaking her legs as her enraged husband, Steven Odero forced the door open with three other men.

The wife's alleged lover, Ben (pictured with her) was rescued by the Kenyan police, but not before he was given some serious punches. When they got to the station, the man claimed he had no intention of sleeping with the woman, but that she was the one who invited him to come fix television...

Even policemen couldn't help but laugh. Lol!

Tinubu should dump APC, they are desperate to rubbish him — Chief Adebanjo

Afenifere leader, Chief Ayo Adebanjo, speaks on the alleged gang-up against the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, and the leadership style of President Muhammadu Buhari with The Punch's Bayo Akinloye. It's an interesting read:

What do you make of the rift between the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, and the APC National Leader, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu?
Tinubu allowed himself to be used by people who do not have the interest of the Yoruba at heart. He chose to follow President Muhammadu Buhari sheepishly. I warned that Buhari has not changed. I knew his antecedents. But Tinubu chose to follow him. He and his group blindly supported Buhari.

I am not concerned about the APC party politics. What is happening in the party is more than a gang-up against Tinubu. My concern is that the undermining of Tinubu’s influence by the party he fought hard to bring to power is making decisions and taking steps that are not good for the Yoruba. I am looking beyond the superficial affront against Tinubu by his party people. The attack against him is an attack against Yoruba people.

Is there any link between it and the socio-political crisis in Nigeria?
That’s the reason we are having problems all over the country – you have the Biafra group, the Niger Delta Avengers, etc. It is a question of the constitution of the nation. We feel strongly that the report of the National Conference should be examined and implemented as necessary but the confab report has been thrown into the dustbin. Unfortunately, some sheepish Yoruba people are following him (Buhari) and hoping that he’ll share power with them. But we will not allow the Yoruba masses to be trampled on – no man will chase away his child for a lion to devour. If the Yoruba in the ruling party don’t understand what is happening, we’ll continue to speak out.

I agree with people who say Tinubu didn’t do well (by supporting Buhari to emerge as Nigeria’s president). Yet, one’s child can’t be so badly behaved that he will be chased away into the waiting claws and jaws of a lion. That is my position. The APC is a melting pot of various interest groups; you have the Tinubu group and you have the Buhari group – and other groups. If the ruling party is fragmented then we are in a mess. The mess was evident from the beginning of this administration when the party could not agree on who should take what positions in the National Assembly. The APC is an association of strange bedfellows. I had criticised the party because of its lack of a meeting point among its leaders. Their lack of cohesion began with (Bukola) Saraki who emerged against the party’s wish. The party is characterised by personal reasons, selfishness, and narrow-mindedness. They came together without a definite purpose of what they want to do at the federal level.

What is the way forward?
I wish Tinubu can get things right, regroup and get out of the unholy alliance he got himself into, for the benefit of the Yoruba nation and the South. In 2019, there will be no APC. If there will be APC, it will not be in this form.

Is that a prophecy?
Go and write it down. I am prepared to be abused by people who think contrary.

Why do you feel strongly that by 2019 there won’t be APC or that the party would have been weakened by that time?
Are you not a journalist? Can’t you decipher it? The signs are there. It is common sense. Some of us have been in the game (politics) for a long time. There is no unity of purpose within the party. Where is the unity when Tinubu said the chairman of the party is a traitor? He accused him of treachery; that he’s not acting alone because he has the backing of the leaders of the party. I don’t like the crisis I am seeing in the APC because it is the masses that would suffer. It is the masses that are looking for good roads and other amenities. It is the masses that are looking for good governance. If they are quarrelling with one another, when will the ruling party settle down to deliver dividends of democracy to the masses?

The party’s rules are skewed against them in case they don’t know. They should unite against forces detrimental to Yoruba interest. I had warned them (the APC) before the last general elections about what is happening now. There is nothing happening now that I have not said before –that he (Buhari) is a dictator; that he doesn’t obey the rule of law; he’s a tribal jingoist and so on. What has Buhari said or done about the rampaging Fulani herdsmen who are maiming and killing people in the East, in the West and in the North? What has he said? Buhari has denied that those marauders are Fulani. He claimed that they are foreigners – the notion that the herdsmen are foreigners is even worse to accept. If our head of state (and the commander-in-chief) cannot protect us or guarantee the safety of citizens against attacks by foreigners who are invading a territory he presides over, then we are in a mess.

Are you disappointed about President Muhammadu Buhari’s performance so far?
I am disappointed that Buhari has not disappointed me. The reason is that I spoke against him before the 2015 presidential election. I am not happy that his actions now have vindicated me that I am right concerning what I said about him. Back then, all his supporters said I was castigating him unnecessarily – that the actions he took during his first time of ruling the country were taken under military rule. I was expecting him to change. Now, we’re in a civilian regime, they said, and I told them they don’t know Buhari’s background. How can someone say Nigeria is not negotiable? How can you not negotiate the continued existence of a country with multiethnic nationalities? The Soviet Union existed for how many years? Did it not break eventually? What about Czechoslovakia? Did it not break up? So, why can’t Nigerians peacefully review the nation’s amalgamation? We need to review it –we cannot be held as if in a cage by force or by somebody or a group of people’s fiat. Anyone or any group that is opposed to the restructuring of the country is the enemy of the country.

Can you speak more on the mistakes you said Tinubu made?
Of course, he did (make a mistake supporting Buhari to become the president). I had said that ab initio – before the presidential poll was held. I said the greatest mistake Nigerians – Yoruba must not make was voting for Buhari. Everybody heard me when I said that. Many people said I was a PDP apologist. I made that statement back then based on what I know about Buhari and his antecedents.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan didn’t realise the importance of implementing the confab report on time. He promised that if given a second term he would examine the recommendations and try to implement them. The other man (Buhari) said he wasn’t going to look at the report at all. I think it is reasonable to consider the person who promised to do something. There’s nothing to accuse Buhari of now because he didn’t promise to implement the confab recommendations. I am – I repeat – disappointed that Buhari has not disappointed me. I was prepared for disappointment; I was waiting to be disappointed so that I could go to Buhari and tender an apology to him. In spite of saying in his acceptance speech that he’s a born-again democrat, nothing has changed about him.

American Deadly Drones to Bomb Terrorists in Northern Nigeria

There are strong indications the United States government may launch attacks against Boko Haram insurgents in Northern Nigeria, as a drone base being constructed in the Niger Republic would soon be completed.

According to reports, the American drone base is under construction in Agadez, a town in Niger.

The facility is expected to offer US military, greater ability to use drones against Islamist extremists in countries like Libya, Mali and Nigeria.

Some security experts told The Punch that such drone attacks against insurgents in the North might kill innocent people.

The project, considered to be the United State’s most important military construction effort in Africa, according to secret files obtained by an online medium, The Intercept, will gulp $100m.

The construction of the base is an indication that the US is paying more attention to terrorist groups in Nigeria and other countries on the African continent.

“As the only country in the region willing to allow a US base for MQ-9 Reapers — a newer, larger, and potentially more lethal model than the venerable Predator drone — Niger has positioned itself to be the key regional hub for US military operations, with Agadez serving as the premier outpost for launching intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance missions against a plethora of terror groups,” The Intercept said.
